May 2nd, 2008 - frazzled and bedazzled — LiveJournal
Some time ago I was added in error to an international mailing list at work because I had a client with the exact same name as this other company based (I think) in England. At some point, someone did a search somewhere to see who all the people were internationally who worked on Company ABC, my name popped up, and voila! Mail ensued.

Broadcast messages that encompass the whole group are rare, but I always enjoy seeing them. Today's was a message, in Italian, from someone in the Padua office to the client. I totally nerded out and read it, noticing things like the differences in punctuation for writing in Italian vs. writing in English, and of course realizing that one can actually get a vague understanding of the topic at hand based on words that have a similar meaning in English or (really reaching back) Latin.

Hello, my name is fiveandfour and I'm a big ol' nerd.
